August Maintenance Checklist

With summer coming to an end, it is time to get your home ready for fall! Follow these quick maintenance tips to start getting prepared for the new season!

Deep Clean Your Bathrooms

Clean your tile grout and repair or replace it as needed. Soak your showerheads in vinegar to remove hard water buildup and check the caulking around shower fixtures and bathtub faucets. You should also check your toilet handle and the float inside the tank to make sure your toilet isn’t needlessly running.

Check & Replace All HVAC Filters

It is important to check your HVAC filters monthly to see if they need to be replaced. Getting into a habit of frequently checking and replacing your air filters will help ensure you are getting the cleanest possible air flowing through your home.

Clean Your Hot Water Heater

Since most people don’t use much hot water during August, it is a great time to flush out your hot water heater! This will remove sediment and calcium buildup, as well as extend the life of the heater.

Prepare Your Garden For Fall

August is a great time to prepare your home garden for the new season! Try planting vegetables such as broccoli, lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, tomatoes, and kale. To protect your new plants, cover them with some shade and water them daily!

Check these items off your to-do list to get your home set up for the new season! Have a great month!
